The following policies relate to your stay at the Hotel Riviera. Please take the time to review these policies. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at your earliest convenience.
Guaranteed Reservation & Check-in
Check-in time at the Hotel is 3 pm onwards. If you arrive prior to check-in time, please check with the front desk. Additional charge $25/per hour for early check-in. To guarantee a reservation at the Hotel, a valid government-issued photo ID (passport or driver-license only) and a valid major bank-issued credit card are mandatory. Guests will be required to present their own valid credit/debit card upon check-in, along with a correct form of identification. Especially, if you have already prepaid by credit card for your reservation before arrival. The credit card would be pre-authorized before/upon arrival and full payment collected upon arrival. Pre-authorized with a debit card is $250, and it will be returned after check out immediately on the same debit card and with a credit card, it is $100 which is canceled post check out and takes around 5-10 business days to get back into your account. If a credit card or ID is not available, the Hotel reserves the right to refuse the reservation or deny check-in. For all the reservations and third-party reservations, a valid credit card should match the guest name on the reservation as per booking policy/agreement with the third-parties.
Photo ID & Age Requirement
At least one person over 19 years old must be present in the room. A valid government-issued photo ID is required both for reservation and check-in process and to process a credit card.
Cancellation & No-Show
Cancellation is allowed free of charge if given 48 hours' notice before check-in. Cancellation within 48 hours before check-in, 100% of the first night will be charged. For any no-show, we will charge 100% of the first night. Any non-refundable reservation is non-changeable & non-transferable, and full pre-payment is due at the time of booking. In the case of no- show (non-refundable), we will charge the full amount of the reservation. The cardholder must be present at the time of check-in and produce the credit card used for payment and government-issued photo ID. Please note we only accept a valid major bank-issued credit card for pre-payment.
Luggage storage is available for an additional charge of $5 per luggage for more than three hours. For overnight luggage storage is $5 per luggage per night.
Check-out / Late Check-out
The official hotel check-out time is 11 am. If you require a later check-out, please contact the receptionist before 11 am on the day of departure. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee that it would be possible. Late departure fees will apply as follows:
11am - 1 pm: $25 CAD/hour
After 1 pm: Full Rate
The Hotel Riviera can accommodate guest luggage complimentary at the reception after check-out time if needed for an additional cost.
Room Occupancy & Additional Guests
The Hotel permits a maximum of 6 guests in a room depending on the room category. Some room types have a maximum of 3 guests occupancy. Room rates for our suites are based on single occupancy. Additional child (5 and under) are free of charge, (12 and under) will be subject to a $10 per child per night. Adult (12+) will be subject to a $20 per person per night. Extra rollaway bed is available a $20 per night. The crib is available for an additional fee of $10/ night.
Visitor(s) & Noise Policy
The visitor(s) are welcome to visit their staying Guest between 10 am - 10 pm. Any visitor staying beyond the visiting hours are subject to $20 plus tax per person. We appreciate our guests to be respectful of other patrons staying in the hotel. Should you or your guests create a disturbance affecting the comfort of other guests, your credit card will be charged for the hotel’s loss of revenue.
Taxes & Fees
Room charges are subject to 16% taxes. (GST 5%, PST 8% & MRDT 3%). Parking charges effective from July 1, 2019 ( BC Provincial Parking tax 24 % & GST 5%) $25 outside parking and $30 underground INCL. TAX
For the convenience of our guests who are traveling with pets, the Hotel will accept pets (cats & dogs) less than 20 lb with an additional fee of $30 INCL. tax per night. Service dogs are staying with us free of charge. We do kindly request that guests do not leave their pets unattended in the room, and pets must be with owners at all times. We will add any damages to the room caused by your pet to your credit card. The Guest also acknowledges and agrees that the Deposit amount will not limit the right of the Hotel. To exercise or pursue any remedy available in law or equity for breach of this agreement, including, but not limited to, damages on appliances or finishes, furniture — alternatively, any other costs or losses resulting from the negligence of the Guest and their Pets. Should your pet create a disturbance affecting the comfort of other guests, your credit card will be charged for the Hotel’s loss of revenue.
All guest rooms, balconies, parking lot, common areas, and public areas are 100% non-smoking, and we ask that you refrain from smoking in the hotel premises. Please help us keep the Hotel in a smoke-free environment. We charge a $500 fumigation, cleaning fee, and any loss of revenue of the Hotel to any guest’s credit card who violates this strict non-smoking policy.
Room Service Policy
Daily room service is available from 9 am - 4 pm. If housekeeping enters a room with personal items such as electronics, jewelry, clothing, left out, they will not provide daily service. Please ensure that all areas that require service have been cleared of all personal items as the Hotel will not be liable for missing or damaged property. If during daily service, a room is found to have been damaged, an assessment will be made, and the Guest will be responsible for all recovery costs. Daily room service does not include the cleaning of crockery, cutlery, or cooking utensils. Should you require this service, please contact the receptionist ( for an additional fee of $15). Dishes left at check-out incur an additional cost as well $15. If any item will be found missing or damaged, the Guest will be held responsible and charged for the loss. We would not be servicing your room in case of DO NOT DISTURB SIGN indicated. You are required to contact the front desk on extension 0, from 9 am to 4 pm, should you require any amenities.
